Friendship 7 & Eric Archer – Atomic Shuffle

In the late nineties, I began making ambient electronic music under the name Friendship 7. This was a very special track I did with my college friend and musical genius, Eric Archer.

Here’s the track and video I made for your enjoyment.

C’mon everybody it’s music time!

For those who know me personally, this has been a pretty busy last couple of years. With two small babies and some career changes happening, our house has been a very busy place. But I have been fairly well determined to not let the summer slip by without accomplishing some new goals.

First off, this website and blog are long in the tooth and in need of both an update and facelift. While the blog was focused on my work with Team in Training before, I now intend to steer the ship back to music.

I have been playing music for quite a while and drift in and out of songwriting and performing on the side. Lately, however, I have been using what little free time I have to sharpen up my chops with Propellerhead’s Reason/Record.

A virtualized studio bundle with amazing soft-synths and sampling, as well as, a complete modeled SSL9000k mixing console, you cannot beat it’s amazing sound.

I am going to be posting more audio, links, tutorials, etc. soon.

Thanks!

So much for that silly idea

Yeah, well forget about that last post. I suppose it’s a pipe dream and this is but a meager apology. However, it seems only spammers and robots read this anyway, so….

A Changing Tide

In retrospect, completing my triathlon was a big accomplishment and it took a lot of hard work. I sincerely appreciate all of the support my friends and family gave me, as well as the experience of participating with Team in Training. I only wish I’d been here enough to do more fund raising and team activities. I hope to do some more races next year for myself and encourage anybody who is interested in multi-sport to give it a try. It was a worthy goal.

Darwin Mayflower said, “Happiness in life comes from the achievement of goals….But now I have a new goal, WORLD DOMINATION!” In actuality, I think that is more of a long-term vision than an actual goal.

So this last four months was run-a-lot, bike-a-lot, or swim-a-lot. But with new employment comes new direction. This web-site has been the albatross around my neck for many years, so I hope to spice it up a bit and eventually get it rolling in a slightly more respectable fashion.

So what will I talk about? The telecom industry, web technologies, Java technologies, or personal accounts of industry?

I may just write 30 Rock recaps and tell you how awesome Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is. The important point is, I need to be more vigilant in the updates, maintenance and upkeep of this place.

So get ready, keep your fingers crossed, and hope I don’t delete this post soon!

Edmonton: Beautiful scenery

I went for a jog yesterday afternoon and this morning. Edmonton is a gorgeous city with a beautiful waterfront and trail system running past the Saskatchewan river. There is one caveat to Edmonton though, winter lasts an exceptionally long time. As one fellow colloquially put it, Edmonton has two seasons: Winter and July.

Anyway, I’m gonna go running tomorrow morning and hopefully I’ll get a chance to take some pics this week and post ‘em online.
